This year we created Community University in order to help parents and community members understand current Web 2.0 Tools and other technology our students use in and out of the school setting. We’ve provided a number of courses: everything from Facebook 101 to Movie Maker. We have also included a couple of classes not specifically related to technology, but still very meaningful, such as Creating/Updating A Resume. I would like to thank those who attended a session this year!
Our final Community University classes for the 2011-2012 school year will take place on Monday, May 7 at 7pm. Science teacher, Brenda McAtee, will facilitate a class about Prezi, which is a free presentation tool that more students are using to enhance their presentations and engage the audience. This class will take place in the LHS Tech Center. In addition to the Prezi class, I will facilitate a class about Digital Citizenship, which is about understanding why and how we should use technology appropriately. We will discuss the digital footprint and its implications. This will take place in the GLHS Library Media Center.
In order to help us get a better idea of how many people will attend each class, please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday, May 4, 2012. Thanks and enjoy your week!
